Three Pilot Parks provide laboratories for experimentation by council leaders and residents. The council hired two Park Activators to recruit volunteers and organize community events in the parks. Volunteer groups will create habitats for local wildlife and maintain green spaces for the public. Planned initiatives include a revitalized cafe at the Winton Recreation Ground, community gardens, and a Nature Tots education program.

Following a successful funding application to the Future Parks programme, BCP Council selected three ‘Pilot Parks’ to test ideas for the future management, funding and improvement of the area’s green spaces. Two ‘Park Activators’ have now been recruited to drive this project forward and encourage more people to make use of their local parks.
