City of London Corporation, GB converts public lands into meadows as part of Carbon Removals Project
City of London Corporation, GB Carbon Removals Project
Complete
The City of London Corporation began the Carbon Removals Project as part of its 2040 net-zero emissions effort. Vacant green spaces managed by the city are targeted for rewilding during the project. Forty-two acres of low-quality land near Epping Forest were turned into a wildflower meadow to kick off the initiative. The Patmore's Field meadow captures carbon and provides a welcoming habitat for wildlife in nearby forests.
