Copenhagen, DK timber neighborhood

Planning

The City of Copenhagen is planning to construct a new environmentally-friendly neighborhood where every building is made entirely out of timber. The Fælledby neighborhood will accommodate 7,000 residents and its 2,000 homes will showcase timber as an alternative to the carbon-heavy construction materials of concrete and steel. The neighborhood is being designed so everything is within a 15-minute walk and 40% of the 45-acre site will be left undeveloped to preserve local biodiversity.
