Macedon Ranges and the Australian Food & Grocery Council partnered on the one-year program for 2,246 households. Participants gather bubble wrap, food wrappers, and other eligible materials into orange bags provided by the council. Orange bags are placed in the yellow recycling bin for collection every other week with materials sent to a regional processing plant for recycling. Project leaders are monitoring collection volumes and user experiences for potential expansion to other communities.
