Mapoon, QLD Hydropanels Water Supplies Technology Pilot

Project partner SOURCE Global installed 10 Hydropanels at the shire's cultural center. Hydropanels use solar energy for the conversion of water vapor into potable water for center visitors. This technology requires no pipes or grid electricity, thus decreasing the infrastructure necessary for reliable drinking water. Council officials will evaluate the effectiveness of SOURCE Hydropanels with potential expansion into drought-impacted areas in mind.
