New York, NY Department of Sanitation "Clean Curbs" pilot

In Progress

The New York City Department of Sanitation launched the "Clean Curbs" pilot program in conjunction with the Department of Transportation. This pilot allows Business Improvement Districts to install sealed waste containers out in the street. Furthermore, the city has enacted a new rule requiring all new buildings with 300 or more units to set their garbage in sealed containers. These efforts are designed to reduce the blight of bagged trash on the city's sidewalks in the pathway of pedestrians.
