Southampton City Council, GB integrates EarthSense technology into woodburning emissions monitoring
Southampton City Council, GB EarthSense Woodburning Monitor
Complete
Southampton placed 18 Zephyr air quality monitors in neighborhoods throughout the city. Real-time data on particulate matter (PM2.5) from residential woodburning are sent to the MappAir modeling suite for analysis. A combination of PM2.5 and national air quality data is used for hotspot mapping as well as street-level air quality alerts. City officials are working with The Environment Centre on a public education campaign about cleaner, more sustainable heating methods.
