Wilmington, NC Street Outreach Specialist Pilot Service Gap

City officials partnered with Block by Block on a three-day evaluation of Wilmington's homeless community. This review included nightly counts of unsheltered residents and an assessment of social service needs. Project partner Wilmington Downtown, iNC. will hire a street outreach specialist with a social work background for the one-year pilot. This specialist will work one-on-one with homeless residents to navigate support systems and provide for immediate needs.
