Gateshead Metropolitan Borough Council created the #ThriveThisSummer initiative to help residents remain healthy and active despite social distancing requirements during the COVID-19 pandemic. Free daily virtual fitness classes and crafts tutorials were produced by Go Gateshead the Council's leading sport and leisure services provider. Residents were encouraged to post pictures and videos of themselves enjoying the classes on Facebook using #ThriveThisSummer.
