Adelaide, SA Rundle Mall Largest Retail Green Bin Trial

In Progress

The one-year pilot was funded in part by a Council Modernisation Grant from Green Industries SA. Six multi-bin hubs are stationed near street mall eateries for the separation of landfill waste, compostables, and recyclable items. The Rundle Mall pilot includes colorful signage and incentives for restaurants deploying compostable takeaway containers. Council officials estimate at least 17 tons of organic waste will be composted during the pilot.
