Bochum, NW addresses rodent control issues in public areas with connected bait boxes
Bochum, NW Connected Bait Boxes Rodent Control Public Areas
In Progress
Municipal departments previously struggled with coordinating efforts at rodent monitoring and trapping. A new rodent control team placed 200 connected bait boxes in sewers. Each box contains a digital counter as well as bait protected from subterranean conditions. Box maintenance and data extraction initially required team members to visit sites with their tablets. New LoRaWAN infrastructure allows remote monitoring and analysis of rodent activities in public assets.
