Brisbane, QLD adds public park BBQs to IoT network for improved maintenance and service

Brisbane, QLD Public Park BBQ IoT Network Improved Service

Complete

Brisbane added smart BBQ grills to 420 green spaces across the city. Each grill features sensors that transmit data via public Wi-Fi to parks staff. This project allows the city to monitor real-time ignitions, usage time, and grill cleanliness. City staffers monitor heat maps produced from grill data and adjust maintenance schedules in anticipation of peak use periods. Smart BBQs also allow Brisbane to develop long-term replacement and allocation plans.
