Chicago, IL Tiny Home Community Pilot Affordable Housing

Planning

City officials plan a Request for Proposals in early 2023 for project partners. Selected builders will construct three communities of up to eight tiny homes for residents facing housing insecurity. Accessible common spaces provide opportunities for recreation and shared experiences among neighbors. The proposed communities will be built on city-owned land for reduced project costs. The pilot is funded by local bond and federal housing funds.
