College Park, GA works with Comcast to address community concerns with Smart Trash Receptacles

College Park, GA Smart Trash Receptacles Comcast

In Progress

The city uses Comcast's MachineQ Gateway to connect smart trash cans to their Public Works staff. A message is sent from a sensor on each receptacle to city personnel when trash collection is required. College Park increased the number of receptacles while introducing sensors to keep public spaces clean. The Smart Trash Receptacles program serves as a blueprint for connecting 500,000 devices ranging from smart traffic lights to self-service kiosks by 2030.
