Denver, CO to launch first landfill gas-to-RNG plant in Colorado

Planning

Denver is set to launch a renewable natural gas facility in partnership with Archaea Energy, converting landfill waste into low-carbon fuel to power the city's vehicle fleet and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The project, located at the city's landfill, will capture methane from organic waste and upgrade it into pipeline-quality RNG using advanced purification technology. Expected to produce up to 1 million gallons of RNG annually, the facility aims to displace diesel fuel.
