London Borough of Haringey, GB acquiring empty homes
In Progress
London Borough of Haringey created a £6million fund to acquire empty homes using compulsory purchase orders (CPOs) and Empty Dwelling Management Orders (EDMOs). When an empty home owner cannot be located or are unwilling to use the property, an EDMO allows the Council to take possession of the property for 7 years and install tenants. This new policy was designed to increase the number of available homes and provide a diverse range of housing options for the public.
