Summerland, BC progresses toward renewable energy future with Municipal Hall solar project

Summerland, BC Municipal Hall Solar Project Renewable Energy

Complete

The Municipal Hall contains a 17-panel solar installation that produces 5.4 kilowatts. Annual energy generation of 6,900 kilowatt hours produces approximately 5% of the building's electricity. District officials plan LED lighting and equipment upgrades to decrease energy consumption. This installation and the 17.25 kW Arts & Cultural Centre system produce 30,000 kWh per year. Summerland residents can track each facility's solar generation by the hour on a dedicated dashboard.
