Sunshine Coast, QLD leads International Broadband Network project to attract businesses
Sunshine Coast, QLD International Broadband Network
Council leaders facilitated Sunshine Coast's connection to the Japan-Guam-Australia South (JGA-S) underwater cable. A partnership with RTI Connectivity extended a 550-kilometer fiber-optic line from Maroochydore City Centre to the JGA-S. This connection provides ultra-fast broadband not only to Sunshine Coast but other Queensland councils. The International Broadband Network is the first international connectivity project led by an Australian local government.
