Sheffield City Council is conducting a trial of e-cargo bikes as a new method of delivery for local businesses. The Council secured a grant from the Energy Saving Trust to purchase 32 e-cargo bikes for businesses located around the city centre and permit parking zones. The 26 participating businesses were required pay 10% of the e-cargo bike costs and purchase the necessary protective equipment. This project was designed to reduce local carbon emissions, noise pollution, and traffic congestion.
