The Municipality of Bologna launched the "Union does the shopping" home delivery service to help vulnerable residents during the COVID-19 pandemic. The service coordinates volunteers to deliver food, medicine, surgical masks, and household supplies to residents unable to safely leave home due to a disability or chronic disease. The municipality partnered with local volunteer organizations and businesses to establish authorized points of sales which facilitate home delivery shopping.
