Carroll County, MD installed Story Stroll an interactive reading experience for county park visitors

The Carroll County Recreation and Parks Department partnered with the Carroll County Public Library to create the "Story Stroll" interactive reading experience. The Story Stroll activity was created by installing 20 book stations along the Deer Park trails each with a section of a book that visitors can read as they walk the path. The county is planning to open another version of Story Stroll at Leister Park this summer.

Milwaukee, WI added a "Video Game Van" to its roster of roving summer playground activities

The Milwaukee Recreation Department (MKE REC) added a "Video Game Van" to its roster of "Roving Activities" for its standard Summer Playgrounds schedule. Children are given the opportunity to play kid-friendly video games on the Nintendo Switch console with an emphasis on physical activity. The MKE REC will offer this alternative gaming experience to kids at 18 Milwaukee playgrounds throughout the summer.
