Tucson, AZ successful e-scooter pilot program made permanent
The City of Tucson is making electric scooters a permanent option for residents after conducting a successful 12-month pilot program. The Tucson Department of Transportation and Mobility is partnering with Spin and Razor to deploy 500 e-scooters each with the option to deploy more if ridership goals are met. The city will collect a $4,000 application fee, a $15,000 annual permit fee, and 20 cents per ride. The companies will use "parking corrals" to prevent devices from clogging sidewalks.
