Drones help lead Ada County sheriff deputies to missing hunters in the foothills | KBOI

A pair of elk hunters were rescued early Monday morning after they got lost in the Boise Foothills. The Ada County Sheriff's Office says two hunters went up the 8th Street extension area on Sunday but ended up in a ravine in the dark and were unable to find their way out of the thick brush. The pair was able to call for help at about 11:30 p. m. on Sunday. The sheriff's office used recently-purchased drones that have thermal imaging detection, spotlight and audio speaker accessories.
