Alice Springs, NT adds IoT assets while improving park safety with Smart Solar Trees project

Alice Springs, NT Smart Solar Trees Park Safety IoT

Complete

Three parks in Alice Springs received solar-powered posts that resemble trees. Each post features LED lighting, CCTV cameras, and sensors that detect environmental conditions. The Smart Solar Trees initiative expands free Wi-Fi access to the selected parks. Town officials access data from the smart structures to evaluate everything from park bin levels to tree maintenance needs. Project data are also available through a publicly accessible dashboard.
