Brighton & Hove City Council, GB launches contactless wallet pilot

In Progress

A new pilot in Brighton, UK, has successfully integrated prepaid and concessionary travel passes into the contactless “tap-and-go” ecosystem by allowing passengers to purchase passes directly in Google Wallet and tap their phone when boarding buses. The trial uses Littlepay’s Card As Authority to Travel (CAATT) model, which links travel entitlements directly to a passenger’s digital wallet or payment credential instead of requiring separate smartcards, apps, or QR codes.
