The Antrim & Newtownabbey Policing and Community Safety Partnership launched a new Domestic Abuse awareness campaign. The "Domestic Abuse: It is Never OK" campaign was designed to raise awareness that anyone can be a victim regardless of gender, ethnicity, age, background or religion. The Council also signed the White Ribbon Charter pledging to never commit, condone or remain silent about violence against women.

Antrim & Newtownabbey Borough Council is enhancing equality of access to services as part of a commitment to become a Deaf Friendly Council. The Council has appointed a "Deaf Champion" to promote deaf awareness and help remove any barriers preventing those with a disability from feeling welcomed by the community. The Council is encouraging its staff to participate in signing courses and providing signing on social media videos for important events and announcements.

Antrim & Newtownabbey Borough Council launched an online version of Muddy Boots its edible growing initiative. The Muddy Boots educational programme teaches residents how to grow their own fruits and vegetables. The Council translated the programme into a free online version containing 15 instructional videos in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The first 150 registrations received a Salad Starter Growing Kit which included compost, seeds, and growing trays.

Antrim & Newtownabbey Borough Council, GB partnership provides training for electrical engineers
Antrim & Newtownabbey Borough Council is partnering with Horizon Engineering to provide skills training for local electrical engineers. The pilot project includes two training courses which provide participants with the necessary safety, legal, technical, operational, and procedural knowledge to advance their electrical engineering careers. The Council is offering to contribute 40% of the £1,200 course fee for up to six local employers who offer the course to their employees.
