Armidale's Regional Social Housing Waste Strategy calls for landfill diversion efforts that recognize schedule and mobility limitations among tenants. Homes North residents responsibly dispose of metal and bulk waste with a curbside collection service. Five public bins accept non-functional appliances and mattresses for recycling by council partners. The one-year pilot includes a marketing campaign that models decreased consumption and increased recycling.
