eZwayZ developer atsence and nonprofit Bartimeus created a digital twin of the transit station. The camera on an app user's phone compares its view with this 3D map without using GPS. Visually impaired commuters select their preferred guidance options including phone vibrations, high-contrast walkthroughs, and voice commands. Municipal officials assisted with user testing along with the integration of real-time transit information into eZwayZ.

Arnhem, GE turns COVID-19 lessons into improved homeless shelters with From Reception to Housing
Arnhem housed 40 homeless residents on two cruise ships during the early months of the pandemic. Improved health and wellness results from single-room occupancies sparked a shift from communal to individual accommodations. Four vacant locations were converted into private rooms for participants moved from cruise ships on October 1, 2021. Project partners IrisZorg and Salvation Army provide outpatient care for basic medical needs as residents seek long-term housing.

Arnhem, GE facilitates improved communications between landlords and tenants with KKVV App
Local landlords are eligible for two years of subsidized app access rather than the standard 2-euro rate per tenant. KKVV encompasses the entire rental process from applications through move-out inspections. Tenants easily communicate with their landlords in the app about issues ranging from lost keys to mold. City officials, KKVV, and the Arnhem Landlords Association scheduled two sessions with interested landlords about the app and best rental practices.

Arnhem, GE plans lamppost chargers for electric vehicles in new residential developments
The city's Electrical Charging Implementation Framework is the first of its type in the country. A 1,200-home development in Arnhem-South will be the first implementation of this policy. Arnhem plans 150 double-charger points with dedicated parking spaces throughout the area. A planned solar farm will produce zero-emission energy for the charging infrastructure. Municipal officials will also use the Framework to inform lamppost upgrades in existing neighborhoods.
