Waste Management teams apply red stickers to contaminated recycling bins in the pilot area. Tagged bins are not emptied and a support line is available to explain tagging decisions. Residents who receive three tags have their bins taken away until they speak with city staffers about recycling techniques. The pilot engages homeowners on how to prevent landfill waste including plastic bags from spoiling the recycling process.

EatsBC allows users to order takeout and delivery from local restaurants. Participating eateries are charged 3.5% fees per transaction compared to fees of 15% to 30% charged by competing apps. The Small Business Development Office worked with area developers to create the app. Restaurant owners who did not have online ordering systems before COVID-19 were assisted during EatsBC's development.
