The Bernalillo County Commission unanimously approved adopting a new cybersecurity policy designed to prevent ransomware attacks. The new policy will replace the existing internet/email policies and require a multi-factor authentication process to access certain accounts. The Bernalillo County systems are now monitored at all times by a Security Operations Center via computer network sensors that send alerts in response to any suspicious activity.
