Bolton Metropolitan Borough Council, GB LED Project
The two-year project outfitted 26,000 street lights and 1,500 lighted signs with LEDs. Bolton officials connected the new lights to a central management system. This system can adjust lighting levels and respond quickly to maintenance issues. The project will save Bolton 14 million pounds over the next two decades. LEDs also reduce the council's emissions from lighting by 50% compared to the previous fixtures.
