Summit County, CO and Breckenridge respond to housing shortage with Lease to Locals incentives
Summit County and Breckenridge estimated a shortfall of 2,600 rental units for local workers by 2023. Landing Locals was selected to run the six-month pilot. Owners of licensed short-term rentals receive up to $24,000 when converting to long-term rentals. Short-term property managers also receive up to $2,700 per unit and additional incentives for multi-unit referrals. The goal of Lease to Locals is the availability of at least 100 new rental units by spring 2022.

Frisco, CO "Healthy Habit Exchange" allows residents to trade vaping devices for healthy activities
The Town of Frisco is participating in the "Healthy Habit Exchange" program, along with various local governments in the region, where vaping devices can be traded in for a healthy activity. Any individual can turn in their vape devices at the Breckenridge Recreation Center, Dillon Town Hall, Silverthorne Town Hall or Summit Community Care Clinic. Participants can choose from punch passes to the recreation centers or paddle sport rentals in exchange for their device.
