Byron, NSW adds a solar-paneled roof to public car park in bid to cut carbon emissions

Byron, NSW Solar Roof Public Car Park Emissions

Complete

The car park next to council offices in Mullumbimby features a 99-kilowatt solar roof covering 40 outdoor spaces. The solar roof provides approximately 25% of the office's energy and reduces annual energy costs by $30,000 AUD. Any energy in excess of office needs on weekends is sent back to the local grid. Byron added an EV charger powered by solar energy. This project works toward the council's goal of 100% carbon-free energy use by 2025.
