Caledon, ON anticipates future population growth with Green Development Standards program
Town officials seek a sustainable approach to growth with the local population expected to triple by 2051. An engagement campaign asks residents for their suggestions on climate-friendly and livable neighborhoods. This exercise prompts participants to think about their home, business, neighborhood, and community as if they are newcomers. Feedback from this exercise, public workshops, and best practices from other councils will be synthesized into a plan implemented in 2023.

Caledon, ON tracks COVID-19 risks in town facilities with mobile screening survey
The COVID-19 Screening Questionnaire asks if the user is an employee or visitor to activate different paths. Additional self-screening questions about symptoms, recent travel, and planned building visits must be answered before each visitor entry. Survey responses are automatically sent to building personnel, replacing in-person interviews. Caledon's IT team developed the survey to work on desktop and mobile devices with data protections to secure user privacy.
