Canterbury Bankstown, NSW introduces public engagement campaign ahead of property tax harmonization
Canterbury Bankstown, NSW Property Tax Public Engagement
In Progress
The council seeks feedback on multiple fronts ahead of the July 2021 implementation of the One Rate System. This change is required by state law after the two cities merged in 2016. Homeowners and businesses learn more from council experts at drop-in events. Council leaders use online webinars to walk through proposed rates and uses of public dollars. An online engagement page includes a rates comparison tool and a survey gauging public support or opposition to rate changes.
