Canton, NY considers developing a Municipal Broadband Network to improve high-speed internet access
The town of Canton is considering a recommendation submitted by the Canton Broadband Committee to develop a Municipal Broadband Network. According to a broadband study presented by MC Fibers, a municipal network would improve high-speed internet access throughout the town including 245 unserved addresses. The municipal network would have to cover approximately 200 miles of road using utility poles already in place and it would cost between $10 to $12 million to serve every residence in town.
