Central Bedfordshire Council, GB kinetic pavement panels

In Progress

Central Bedfordshire Council is conducting a trial of kinetic pavement panels that capture energy created by pedestrian footfall. The weight of pedestrian stepping on the pavement panels will generate off-grid electricity via electromagnetic induction generators. The energy generated through these kinetic pavement panels will power streetlights and electronic road signs.
