Colchester Borough Council launched the "CAReless POLLUTION" campaign to address concerns about air quality. The campaign encourages drivers to switch off their engines while waiting at traffic lights, level crossings, schools to reduce air pollution. By switching off their car engine, drivers reduce their carbon emissions and save money on fuel. The Council demonstrated the harmful effects of exhaust fumes by displaying a car filled with coloured smoke in Culver Square.
