Complete

The Smart Cities plan in the Granville neighborhood draws a picture of daily life through sensor data. Eighty sensors across three streets provide information necessary for street and parking projects. Cumberland uses nine sensors to track pedestrian behaviors valuable during traffic flow analyses. A combination of water monitors and air sensors shows how residents interact with the environment.

Granville becomes a 'Smart Precinct’ | Cumberland City Council

Cumberland City Council will roll out its first round of sensor technology as part of its 'Smart Cities' initiative – a project which will shape future planning for Granville. Mayor Steve Christou confirmed that sensor technology was being deployed in the coming weeks. “At Cumberland City Council, we see the value in having good information and data to support our future planning decisions and built environment, particularly given our level of investment in Granville,” he said.
