Dryden, NY begins first-in-state municipal broadband project following positive public engagement
A town-funded survey found 96% of respondents were interested in the project due to dissatisfaction with private providers. Local contractors will run fiber-optic lines along existing gas and electric lines to minimize interruptions during the six-year project. Households will receive Internet service starting at $50 per month and business rates start at $75 per month. Town officials estimate a 10-year repayment on infrastructure costs.
