Framingham, MA partners with Eversource on neighborhood geothermal energy pilot
Regional utility Eversource is installing a networked geothermal system in the Concord Street neighborhood. This system adds a pump to each property that pushes heat into underground pipes in summer and pulls heat into the HVAC system during winter. One hundred residential and business customers will pay low monthly access fees but eliminate gas and heating oil costs. The three-year pilot evaluates system performance over multiple heating and cooling seasons.
