The Frederick County Police Department launched a new online reporting system that allows residents to file non-violent, non-emergency reports from their smartphone or computer. The Frederick County Sheriff's Office also launched an online reporting system for incidents such as destruction of property, fraud, harassment, lost property, traffic complaints, theft, etc.

The Frederick County Council unanimously passed an ordinance to form a board that will hear citizen complaints about police misconduct. The police accountability board will consist of an 11-member panel with one seat reserved for a Black resident and another reserved for a first or second generation immigrant.

Frederick County, MD is conducting a feasibility study for using an entirely electric vehicle fleet
Frederick County is commissioning consultants to study the area's existing electric vehicle infrastructure and determine the feasibility of an electric vehicle fleet. The county's goal is to slowly transition its fleet of more than 1,200 vehicles to electric power. The feasibility study will calculate the amount of money the county could save and the amount of greenhouse gas emissions it could eliminate by buying or leasing electric vehicles.
