Fulton, WI works with Microsoft on first real-world test of ElectionGuard system
Fulton's spring primary was the first use of the open-source program in an election. Town voters used VotingWorks touchscreens to input their votes. Printed ballots were reviewed by voters and deposited in ballot boxes. ElectionGuard also provided a printed tracking number so that a voter could ensure their selections were properly counted. Fulton election inspectors used the printed ballots for the official tally, which was later compared to Microsoft's encrypted data.
