Galway City Council, IE Greening the Laneways Project

The city's Parks team recruited residents and organizations for plantings at unadorned lanes. Volunteers also worked with local artists on murals that reflect community spirit while brightening laneways. This first-in-Ireland initiative relies on residents to conduct ongoing maintenance and upgrades at impacted spaces. City officials believe Greening the Laneways will decrease littering and vandalism by increasing community connections to this work.
