Göteborg, SE launched the Panther recycling system with reusable packaging for food/drink customers
The city of Göteborg partnered with Kretslopp och water, Got Event, Goteborg & Co, Innerstaden Göteborg, Nordstan, Avenyföreningen and TINT to launch the Panther recycling system. The Panther system supplies food/beverage retailers with reusable packaging to replace disposable plastic packaging. Customers scan a QR code when purchasing food or drinks in the reusable containers. If the packaging is not returned to a participating establishment, the customer is automatically charged SEK 50.

Gothenburg, SE NordicPATH research project monitors air quality in parks with the help of residents
The City of Gothenburg partnered with the IVL Swedish Environmental Institute to launch the NordicPATH research project. The project maps air pollutants in Kungsparken by collecting and measuring air particles and nitrogen dioxide in sensors installed throughout the park. The city is looking to expand the project by creating a survey to gather feedback from residents and register their interest in borrowing an air quality sensor while they experience the park.

Gothenburg, SE installed "talking benches" to encourage spontaneous conversations with seniors
The City of Gothenburg's Park and Nature Administration installed twenty "talking benches" to encourage spontaneous conversations as part of a mission to become age-friendly. These vibrant yellow benches create an opportunity for interpersonal meeting in public environments regardless of age. Each bench was installed in a location based on feedback from senior citizens and has sign posted nearby with suggestions for topics of conversation.
