Gotland, SE creates immersive planning experiences with 3D models based on drone imagery
Gotland's mapping team fly drones over the municipality to capture built and natural features. Three-dimensional visualizations accessible to the public are produced from drone footage and existing maps. City planners and developers add new features or apply filters to the models as they envision the future of Gotland. This project is part of the three-year DiSA digitization project that previously produced an e-service portal and an e-archive.

Gotland, SE combines Big Belly bins with custom containers to counter waterfront littering
Gotland added six Big Belly bins on the Strandpromenaden in Visby. The solar-powered bins compact waste for increased capacity and automatically communicate with waste collection teams. Council staff created their own bins for pizza box disposal after finding Big Belly bins were too narrow. This mixture of high-tech and handmade bins may be extended to recyclables based on public participation.
