Grand Forks created a vibrancy initiative to better engage the community, support local arts and events, and improve its relationship with UND. Through proactive engagement and committee planning, the vibrancy initiative increased downtown development and revitalized the area.

The Township of Langley launched the "Buy Local - Open for Business directory" to help residents find essential services and supplies during the COVID-19 pandemic. The directory features local businesses with social distancing requirements, delivery options, or contact-free pickup. Langley's Economic Investment and Development staff compiled the directory by calling over 600 local businesses. The directory includes businesses such as grocery stores, banks, pharmacies, animal services, etc.
