Gwinnett County, GA Smart Corridor Deployment Program will help emergency vehicles travel faster
Gwinnett County is partnering with the Georgia Department of Transportation to launch the Smart Corridor Deployment Program. The program will allow county-owned vehicles to use onboard units to travel through intersection more easily by sending signals to smart technology-enabled traffic lights. The signals tell the traffic lights to turn green for approaching law enforcement and fire service vehicles. The county plans to install these smart corridor units at 387 intersections in 2022.

Gwinnett County, GA conducted a seven-month, on-demand microtransit pilot program
Gwinnett County conducted a seven-month, on-demand microtransit pilot program in the local city of Snellville. The County deployed seven buses, each with a 12-passenger capacity, that residents could hail by calling or using a mobile app. TransLoc software automatically routed the closest bus to new passengers without disrupting other riders. The County plans to use the data collected by the pilot program, including operational data and costs, to revise and expand the program to other cities.
