The Municipality of Hardenberg created the Budgetloket website to help residents experiencing financial difficulties. Residents can access the free Budgetloket website to review their eligibility for financial assistance schemes. Any website visitors receive customized support from the Customer Contact Center, an income consultant, or a partner organisation. The website is available in two languages and the information is provided at language level A2 in folders for users without digital skills.

Hardenberg, OV and waster service provider Rova created an educational waste management puzzle
The Municipality of Hardenberg partnered with Rova, a waste service provider, to launch a public puzzle competition which teaches residents about proper waste management and recycling. The puzzle involved environmentally-friendly chalk pictograms of products that belong in the pmd container sprayed in ten locations throughout the municipality. Participants entered the pictogram descriptions on Rova's website to solve the puzzle for a chance to win a €50 Stad Hardenberg voucher.

Hardenberg, OV launched the RE-ACT! program to reduce property damage by monitoring nuisance youths
The Municipality of Hardenberg launched the RE-ACT! program to reduce the disruptive behaviors among nuisance youth groups that damage property. The RE-ACT! program is a joint approach between the municipality, police, the Public Prosecution Service, and the Child Protection Board. The RE-ACT! program identifies nuisance youth members, enrolls them with a personalized letter from the mayor, and assigns them a supervisor who monitors their progress until the disruptive behavior ceases.

Hardenberg, OV partnered with Zilveren Kruis to offer low-income residents group health insurance
The Municipality of Hardenberg partnered with Zilveren Kruis to offer low-income residents collective health insurance. The municipality will contribute up to €30 per month of healthcare premiums for residents with an income up to 130% of the social assistance standard. The collective health insurance consists of basic insurance, dental insurance, and supplementary health insurance. The care packages range from €129 to €157 per month and children, up to the age of 18, are co-insured for free.
