Härnösand, SE "Adults in City" volunteer program pays classrooms when parents walk at night

The Municipality of Härnösand partnered with the Police and the Church of Sweden to launch the "Adults in the City" volunteer program. The "Adults in the City" program provides classrooms with grants and in exchange the parents agree to conduct night walks in their neighborhood. The program was designed around the idea that just having visible adults present at night in the city prevents criminal activity and fighting among young people.

Härnösand, SE is building a training center that utilizes realistic virtual reality environments

The Municipality of Härnösand will be the first in Norrland to build a training center based entirely on virtual reality. The municipality's Learning Center is partnering with Technichus Science Center to develop this VR studio learning environment. The VR studio will utilize virtual reality technology to create realistic training environments for social interactions and conflict management with sensors that detect a participant's movement, body language, tone, word choice, etc.
